A hint of the Italian Renaissance
the triumph of marquetry
Le cabinet Sinan s’inspire librement des cabinets en bois précieux de la Renaissance italienne en reprenant leur silhouette haute sur pied.
But the ornamentation of the Sinan cabinet is entirely contemporary: it celebrates one of the geometric figures at the origin of all architecture, the Hexagon.
This motif serves as a structural and graphic leitmotif defining both the shape of the cabinet's base and the marquetry composition that adorns its sides.
The large hexagons made in rotating marquetry of Macassar ebony paradoxically give an impression of stability and an impression of movement, like a kaleidoscope.
These motifs seem to "float" on a background of Macassar ebony chosen for its undulating grain like a fabric.

HOMO FABER
The Sinan cabinet could only be entrusted to experienced master cabinetmakers.
This is why it was chosen to be part of the HOMO FABER exhibition held in Venice in 2024.
The event takes place every two years and showcases the exceptional skills of artisans from Europe and around the world.
This international event aims to create bridges between tradition and innovation, between cultural heritage and new technologies applied to artistic crafts.
The Sinan firm perfectly embodies this philosophy, the values of which we defend every day.
