It all starts with a walk along the seafront…
It was driftwood collected during my long walks by the sea that inspired the Tao lamp.
These pieces of driftwood have beautiful organic shapes and, having been polished by the sea like pebbles, they are soft to the touch.
Only patinated bronze could recreate this memory, both visually and tactilely.
The Tao lamp stands on its three feet like a fragile totem topped with a lampshade curved like a sail catching the wind…
The sea is not far away!

A tradition reinvented
The Tao lamp is made of bronze.
To obtain its shape, inspired by driftwood collected during my walks by the sea, it first had to be sculpted.
A mold was then made of this sculpture so that it could be cast in bronze.
This is where the expertise of an artistic bronze caster is required.
Each lamp is then hand-patinated using ancestral recipes that remain somewhat secret…
This is what gives each lamp a particular and unique patina.
