Wise light
In Egyptian mythology, Thoth is a lunar god, the repository of knowledge and wisdom. He is the originator of writing and science.
To evoke these major attributes, I wanted a form of totem, graphic and stable at the same time: a raised square on a pyramidal base, neat and precise.
It is said that Thoth captured the light of the moon and governed its cycles, and so the faces of the lamp are covered with an amber mica marquetry that makes me think of the particular clarity of the lunar orb, both bright and dark.
May the gods enlighten you!

A treasure of nature
The Thoth lamp is adorned with a mosaic of blond mica leaves. Mica belongs to the mineral family; it is composed of aluminum and potassium silicate.
This mineral naturally detaches into thin flakes that can be repurposed for use in woodworking. Indeed, mica is valued both for its electrical insulation properties and its resistance to high temperatures!
We use it for its purely aesthetic qualities, because its color and appearance make it difficult to categorize! I love it when the material itself spontaneously sparks our curiosity about objects…
