Once upon a time…
As you might have guessed, it is the mythical Tower of Babel that inspired this sculptural lamp.
The Tower of Babel is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, along with the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the Statue of Zeus at Olympia. According to the Bible, shortly after the flood, humankind reached a plain and founded a city there, Babylon. The people of Babylon spoke only one language and were a single nation. But one day, they conceived the idea of building a tower that would reach the heavens, allowing them direct access to Paradise…
God was angered by their ambition and confused their language so that they could no longer understand each other, then he scattered them over the face of the earth, thus ending the construction of the tower…

Like a bronze art piece
Due to its sculptural nature, the Babel lamp could only be made of bronze.
To achieve its shape, inspired by the architectural silhouette of the Tower of Babel, it was necessary to call upon a sculptor.
A mold was then made of this sculpture so that it could be cast in bronze.
This is where the expertise of an artistic bronze caster is required.
Each lamp is then hand-patinated using ancestral recipes that remain somewhat secret…
This is what gives each lamp a particular and unique patina.
