strength of forged steel & preciousness of lacquer
The plant world revisited
The basket-shaped base gives the table a light silhouette, and if you get closer, you will discover the particular texture of the metal which has been hand-forged to give the raw appearance of a branch from which the bark has been removed.
The lacquered wooden tabletop utilises the centuries-old expertise of a master lacquerer, with whom we developed a textural effect inspired by ancient Japanese techniques: the lacquer is applied in droplets, and the superimposed layers of different colors reappear as the surface is sanded, creating this flake-like effect. It looks as if the table has been bathed in a shower of delicately colored pigments…

Strength and precision…
All our forged steel pieces are hand-patinated. This is called a "forge black" patina because we use an old technique which consists of fixing onto the metal the calamine that forms on the surface under the combined action of the high temperature of the fire and the striking of the metal on the anvil.
