The tufted hand
The hand tufting technique is a process that combines ancestral know-how and modern weaving tools.
Indeed, on the canvas perfectly stretched on a vertical loom, the craftsman transfers the design of the future rug by hand with the utmost precision. The threads are then inserted, strand by strand, manually using a spray gun on the reverse side of the canvas, following the colors, the design, and the different pile heights.
PINTON demonstrated innovation by being one of the first manufacturers to use the gun tufting technique for some of its rugs and carpets. It is the only French manufacturer to offer such high-quality tufted rugs. This technique allows for faster production than knotted pile weaving. Furthermore, hand tufting offers a wide range of possible thicknesses. The carving method then allows the wool to be sculpted and textured on the woven rug.
From the early 1990s, PINTON specialized in the production of hand-tufted rugs, for which it also collaborated with famous designers and artists.
