The Art of Feathers
like a French can-can dancer!
This new creation, published in 8 copies + 2 artist copies, is the result of my meeting with Julien Vermeulen, the star feather artist of Haute Couture.
Dior, Chanel, Saint Laurent can no longer do without him, and neither can I!
Thanks to his incredible knowledge of the craft, I chose a curly goose feather which gives my Frou Frou lamp the appearance of a light and fluffy ball.
To achieve this, each feather was cut and bent manually using precision tools.
No fewer than 3000 feathers were needed to give flight to the Frou Frou lamp…

Haute Couture expertise at the service of Design
To create the FROU-FROU lamp, the talent of an exceptional feather craftsman was required.
Julien Vermeulen has been practicing this expertise for years, serving the biggest names in Haute Couture.
It was a real gamble to apply the traditional techniques of his craft to the creation of this collectible design piece.
3000 goose feathers were patiently selected, then trimmed by hand to keep only their tips.
Then each "feather" was curled by hand using specific tools, in order to obtain delicate white tufts.
Finally, each tuft was glued with tweezers onto the body of the lamp, like dressing a dressmaker's mannequin.
The result is spectacular, both visually and to the touch! The lamp seems ready to take flight, and if you stroke it, you'll see it's addictive!
