Like something out of a science fiction novel…

Originally, a pure and radical form: a simple cube

Then the extreme refinement of a subtle gradient that coats all the surfaces of the object with lacquer: the impression that the object escapes gravity, that it floats above its base…

At the top of the pedestal table, a pixelated lacquer depicts constellations in shades of extreme and precious blues.

A kind of gem from space.

Inspired by Japanese lacquer masters

To create this lacquered wooden side table, we used the centuries-old skills of a master lacquerer with whom we developed a material effect inspired by ancient Japanese techniques from the 18th century.

The lacquer is sprayed in drops, and the superimposed layers of different colors reappear as the surface is sanded, creating this flake effect.

It looks as if the table has been showered with delicately colored pigments…

Thus the tradition continues…
