A plant-inspired side table
Nature that inspires
The Kami side table was inspired by a walk in the forest during which I fell in awe of the roots of a centuries-old tree.
The base is composed of three bronze vines chiseled like a plant.
Each foot seems to emerge from the ground to lift the platform and hold it as if suspended in the air.
The tabletop is carved from travertine with a veined pattern resembling tree bark.

Sculpted in bronze
To achieve the plant texture that I had so liked on this old tree, it was necessary to find a sculptor capable of carving the base of the pedestal table, drawing inspiration from the tree's roots.
A mold was then made of this sculpture so that it could be cast in bronze.
This is where the expertise of an artistic bronze caster is required.
Each solid bronze foot is then hand-patinated using ancestral recipes that remain somewhat secret…
This is what gives each pedestal table its own unique and distinctive patina.
