Classic of the future
or future classic?
Created exactly 20 years ago, the Rhodes pedestal table has become a classic among classics.
Inspired by the architectural rhythms of Romanesque buildings, it draws its elegance from the heritage of Art History.
The timeless combination of gold and stone is a sure thing, no risk of bad taste is possible!
The gold leaf brings its soft, satiny reflections which harmonize perfectly with the Burgundy stone top.
The Rhodes pedestal table was notably chosen by the Mobilier National to enter the collections of the Elysée Palace.
A classic with distinctly French elegance.

Eternal gold
To decorate the base of the Rhodes pedestal table, the gilder applies 24-carat gold leaves, 0.000125 millimeters thick, to the metal…
This is how architectural elements on monuments and castle gates are gilded.
The gilder uses a sable brush to pick up each gold leaf without tearing it. It is a job requiring patience and precision.
But since gold is incorruptible, the final object will retain its shine forever.
