Art finds its place in the decoration of a luxurious bedroom
For this bedroom project worthy of the Arabian Nights, Nicolas Aubagnac wanted to collaborate with London-based calligrapher Soraya Syed to create a setting for his work. Based on a poem, Soraya Syed composed a precious calligraphy in colored ink on textured paper, with touches of foliage in gold ink.
These are the stanzas from a poem by Ibn al Farid, a 12th-century Egyptian Sufi Arab poet.
Nicolas Aubagnac then transformed this small drawing into a large tapestry, 2 meters long, handwoven in wool, silk, and linen. This work was entrusted to the workshops of the French manufacturer Pinton. Its weaving required the exceptional expertise of two tapestry weavers for over six months.

The designer, the artist, and the weaving workshops worked together to create an absolutely unique work of art around which the entire room was built. The precious amaranth wood bookcase, the custom-made silk rug, the colors of the fabrics and leathers, and the shapes of the furniture were all chosen to complement this tapestry, a true jewel set in its case.
